What’s Going On?
Just wanted to say that I now have Arch on my desktop. Rah!!!
Secret Purpose
In case you didn’t know, I love video games. Maybe a little too much. Every time I do work on my home PC, the temptation of launching DoS2 calls to me like the Green Goblin mask. This was a problem as not only was it a major distraction, it eventually conditioned me to become unable to do work at home. With the workload of studies and projects building up, I decided it was time to stop being a bum.
The solution is simple. Dual-boot Arch and Windows, using Arch like a work profile. If I wanted to game, I would have to boot into Windows to do so. Hopefully, the thought of doing so would inconvenience me enough to continue working instead. So far, this has been successful!
Final Thoughts
If you currently struggle focusing on work at home, try separating your home and work environments! I’m not saying you have to install Arch like I did, but something like logging into a new user profile may put you in the right mindset.
For those of you that have problems focusing on work at home, do you do something similar? Let me know!
